My employee quit towards the end of 2008 & left the country. What do I do with his W-2?
One of my drivers resigned and went to Australia. From his plans, he said he won’t return to the US until at LEAST March or April… He MAY never come back to the lower 48 states and plans on spending a few months after March or April in Hawaii.
He told me that if he finds a job in Hawaii, he may never come back to Chicago.
He left no forwarding address… I MAY be able to find his Parents in Frankfort, IL but he is not on good terms with them so I doubt that they know where he is…
Legally I need to get this document to him but I have no means of communication… AT ALL…
What would you do if you were in this situation?
p.s. He is a "Hippy" style guy that feels that "Laws don't apply to him". (A feeling he got after meeting some new people at the Obama Rallies... Which makes me happy he quit... because our industry has LOTS of laws and his attitude of “Screw The Man” would have put us ALL at risk!)
